Wedding plans.....

Okie dokie so I thought I would update everyone on our wedding plans! We decided on October 18th, 2008 on Okaloosa Island in Florida.  We are flying out there to be married on the beach! Both of our families are going, friends are welcome but we realize with the rising costs of EVERYTHING it will prob just be familia, my most favortistest photographer, Janalin, and her familia. We are staying in Florida for a week for our honeymoon.  Then, when we return we are having a huge luau reception on Saturday November 22nd, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at the lansing community center (where Mel and Stevie-poo's love began 6 years ago) so mark your calendars!! (don't worry we are sending out invites at the appropriate time!)
The last pic is our view from our balcony from the master bedroom that we have already booked. Totally gonna be sleeping with the balcony open to the sounds of the ocean. We are so excited, everyone has said this island has the most prettiest blue-green water ever. Of course you will all get to see plenty of pics since I am a picture freak!

Another night at the lake, this time with food.....

                             Me and my bubs!
Check out the sweet picnic set!

                        Mmmmmmmm shrimp........
I think they smelled all of our tasty food.....and came right in for it!
Back to the lake we go. We had so much fun last night we had to go again and this time grill out!  For Christmas one of our presents from my parents was a sweet picnic set complete with everything you would ever need for a picnic including  a mini cutting board!! So we loaded it up with shrimp, pork steaks, corn on the cob and headed out and had such a great dinner. Thanks bubs for grilling everything so perfect! Thanks mom and dad for such a neat present, we plan to use it over and over!
While we were eating some ducks decided to come visit us, there were a ton of them, you can see in the pic above when they were swimming in...it was so funny. We did invite Trish, Brian, Rob and Lori out but they were all party poopers and couldn't come,  you guys missed a great night, wished you could have been there...maybe next time!!

Who would have thought......

that a place in Wyandotte County could be so pretty!! Last night we went to the dotte county lake and park, it was soooo pretty. I have lived in kansas city for soooo long and never knew about such prettiness until a very good friend of mine told me about it. I wish I would have found it sooner! There were geese everywhere as you can see and lots of turkeys! There were a few deer but I think there would have been more if we had gone there later in the evening. They had such pretty flowers everywhere! This is deff a place we will always come, especially for some picnicing!!

Play date!

Since we do not have kids, we take our fur-kids for play dates!! Remember Trishy and Brian's puppy Gus, well he has two new friends now!! He is getting so big and he is still just a baby! Momma Jackson and I took Louie over with us one night while we were there for dinner and the boys played all night. In fact half of the evening was Gus chasing Louie around the couch, it was hilarious to see a huge horse running from a little puppy! (wow-looking at the top pic I just realized how gray my chewy bear is.... he is getting to be so old)
On the 3rd of July Bubs and I took George over to play and those two NEVER stopped...I think George was a little confused as to what Gus was, he has only ever been around Louie and Gus was just his size...but not for long!! We ran out and got dinner and locked them in Gus' kennel because they were to mischievous to leave out unattended and when we got back the last pic is what we found! Too cute!

Happy Fourth of July!!

                               Me and my bubs!
                   The fireworks crew minus sharonus!
                                Kylie and Jess
                My Sharonus and me
                           Kylie and Uncle Dan
We did our 4th of July last night due to our work schedules, except this year instead of taking silly sparkler pics alone we had five helpers, Trish, Brian, our aunt Sharon, Jess and Kylie. We started off with grilling steaks, crab stuffed mushrooms and bratwursts...yummy!!  Then we went to Sonic just like last year, all had blasts (you must try the banana split blast...WOW) and hung out in Trishy and Brian's driveway!  Uh yeah, the last one, Dan stuck sparklers in Brian's wheelchair and Brian wheeled into the night down the street....lol...it was hilarious and all Brian's idea!! Thanks guys for a great night, looking forward to next year. Happy 4th of July everyone, hope everyone has a safe and great day!!

Meet our precious Stealey.....

So this good news comes with some sad news....my 1999 ford explorer sport that I have had for 8 years has sadly gone to a new home. The transmission started slipping and we took it in to be evaluated and  yup, the transmission is about to go so our mechanic advised trading it in over replacing the transmission due to the cost and year of vehicle. So we shopped around for great gas mileage four door cars around 15k for the past week and I had my heart set on a nissan sentra (very tiny car) and well let's just say if you are ever car shopping go on the last day of the month!! They have to meet their quota's and will blowout cars on the last day to make numbers. So, we never looked at Altima's cuz they were too pricey for us right now and uhhh we ended up with a 2008 Nissan Altima with only 15 thousand miles on it and Dan talked the right into our price range. It goes to show, stick to your guns and  you will get what you want, I never DREAMED we would be getting this car so soon!! It is a really dark gray and check this out....no keys....we push a stinkin button to start it and turn it off, it has a fob that has to be within a certain distance of the vehicle to start it....no keys!! Very cool but hard to get used to!!  Oh and did I mention the GREAT gas mileage, 25.5 in the city and 33.8 hwy!! Whoo hoo, that is so great compared to my 14 in the city and 16 on the hwy!
Don't you love our little model with the car too!!
ps. we named it stealey cuz of the steel gray color and cuz we got such a steal on it....lol....don't ask just laugh with us!
