Thursday was our first ever Cooking Light Dinner night with the Woods and we had a blast! Mel made the yuuuuummmmy chowder with little baguettes with cheese also yummy, I made the cornbread crabcakes, they were good but probably not worth making again. Then Mel made the cake from scratch and I made the frosting from scratch, it was sooo good. Sushi was eyeballing the cake and said "cocolate cake" a hundred times. After dinner it was tub time for Sushi, who by the way was begging for it, he so knows his routine, it was adorable. After his bedtime on came the games, for this dinner night it was taboo! We had a blast, the game was close but the Woods prevailed......we are gonna kick your booties in a re-match Tornado Valley!! (lol)
So overall the dinner was a hit! I am sure there will be a night where we don't like the recipes as much as we thought we might, but hey we will have fun trying them! It is so fun to try new recipes and hang out, we are looking forward to the next one! Mel has the cute pics of us five, maybe she might post one....either way....please refer to mel's blog for more pics of our night.
Tonight Dan and I just got back from a fun dinner date to Johnny Carinos with the Breiners...it was soo good to see you guys, it had been waaaaaay to long. Pictures coming soon of tonight. Including Dan and Dave's calamari pong. ( I know you are all on the edge of your seats for that shot!) Tah Tah for now....

reply to adria....
Ok Ok the chocolate cake was not, it was a recipe from a cookbook I got them for part of their house warming present....shhhh I won't tell if you won't.
Liam does not look like he likes green onions much- too cute! You are a social butterfly, girl! I hardly have the energy to move off the couch, like god forbid I should drop the remote...hahah!
Yum, Yum!!!! It all looks good to me. Maybe Nana & Papa can have leftovers sometime!!!
Yum...such a tasty evening. And really, my favorite was the non Cooking Light chocolate cake. The icing was the best part! We've already enjoyed all the leftovers! Can't wait for the next time....2 wks, right?
That's good the recipes turned out well! Looks like a fun time! I wish I could get Blake to like tub time and bedtime...that kid has fought going to sleep since birth....I guess I should consider myself lucky since he sleeps late :)
